This Oakville skate park in the new location closed again just a few days after it was opened at the Glen Abbey Recreation Centre due to safety concerns on some of the equipment that may have been damaged during the transport and re-setting up of some of the ramps.
A few ramps’ metal approaches were already bent up at the ends and creating a potential hazard that could cause tripping of some skateboarders.
Some of the welds and caulking had come apart so the repairs will be completed and then it will reopen.
Skateboarders can also visit the Iroquois Ridge Skateboard facility with 3,500 square feet located at 1051 Glenashton Drive, just west of Eighth Line.
So in sum skateboarders have a choice of fixed skateboard parks at Glenashton Park and Shell Park as well as Kinoak Arena for an indoor skateboard park in the summer.
