January in Oakville is just amazing this year. There is the odd flurry and temps dip below zero, but there was also just rain the other day that washed all of the snow away. So far not much in the way of accumulation. Can we get off with a very mild winter this year? Sure starting to look like that.
Located in beautiful Oakville, Ontario in Canada, Glen Abbey is a growing community with many fine homes situated near bountiful walking and biking trails with a modern infrastructure, plenty of recreational opportunities and of course home to the Glen Abbey Golf Course.
Bronte Creek is one of the newest Oakville developments by quality builders such as Fernbrook and Monarch Homes. Some lucky homeowners are situated directly on the Bronte Creek Provincial Park with beautiful vistas of the park.
Today there are many beautiful walking and biking trails along with the downtown Oakville and Bronte harbours to enjoy. The recently upgraded Community Centre includes a four lane indoor leisure pool, water slide, conversation pool with a capacity of over 150 people. The new Sixteen Mile Sports Complex with quad pad ice surfaces opened in September, 2010 and is already celebrating their 1st year in operation. The outdoor fields behind the facility are also quite busy including the soccer pitches.
Also housed in the same complex as the Community Centre is the Oakville Public Library. You can access many of the library's information online and even access library databases including magazine back issues and statistical databases with a current library card.

The neighboring Oakville Gymnastics Club is one of the finest in the world and our newly constructed indoor Soccer facility is also world class. From plenty of top notch stores to the quaint landscape and fine restaurants of famous downtown Oakville, our town has an enviable infrastructure and is made up of great people.
In Glen Abbey there are a wide variety of after school sports and activities being offered including swimming, martial arts and even fencing!

The lovely Glen Abbey community in the heart of Oakville is located about a 30 minute drive from downtown Toronto and about a 1 hour drive from Niagara Falls. From the famous Glen Abbey Golf Course to countless trails for walking, biking, hiking or even photography, there is lots to do and plenty of infrastructure including fine restaurants and the quaint ambience of downtown Oakville.
Although Glen Abbey is primarily a residential community there are plenty of year round activities for the whole family.
